PAIR OF RARE CRUCIBLES

This beautiful pair of vintage and hard working crucibles were recovered from a foundry in Bristol. They stand at around 16" tall and weigh in the region of 15 kg.
 
Judging by how thin their sides are and the chips from the rims they probably worked too hard! The extensive use in a furnace is etched into them leaving two gruesome yet genuinely unique talking points. Likely made from silica carbide graphite, one crucible in particular still has the remnants of aluminium inside.
 
Almost alien in form, they have real value as a statement piece, complimenting any industrial decor, standing out in a minimalist setting or juxtaposed with traditional items.
